Very early in the morning Henrik and I looked for white fish on the Taange sø. This used to be a very interesting fishing and that was actually how I met Henrik many years ago and also the main reason I bought my first pontoon boat. We both knew that the chances for a succesful morning were slim but for nostalgic reasons we did it anyway. To put it shortly the lake was beautiful in the early morning but no White fish showed regularly at the surface. The midges that got the fish to the surface seemed to have disappeared as the water now is much more transparent due to a new mussle that have invaded the stream and the lake. This on the other hand has improved the pike fishing so after 1½ hour we switched to the pike equipment and Lars joined us.
In the 70´es Nazareth sang: “Love Hurts” and this still applies for the male pikes. Almost all pikes had wounds from the recent spawning.
A typical pike of the day at least for me and Henrik. Henrik got many more than I did today. My excuse was that I had to use line and fly delivered by Henrik ( thanks for the loan).
I got 4 pikes but no big ones despite a lot of effort put into it.
The swans were very active nesting all around the lake.
Lars did not get a lot of pikes but he got the better ones. He he presents the best pike of the day. he had two pikes over the 10 lbs. mark.
